Modesto Nuts News Release
The Modesto Nuts begin a three-game homestand on Wednesday, July 16th against the Bakersfield Blaze. The Nuts are currently in sole-possession of first place in the California League North division second-half standings. Come out and cheer for the Nuts as they continue towards a playoff berth! Wednesday is also Salute to Baseball Managers Night, so come out and salute Nuts manager Jerry Weinstein, who has over 30 years of coaching experience.
Thursday, July 17th is another B93.1 Thirsty Thursday. All domestic beers and soft drinks will be $1 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. It is also Singles Night and Speed Dating Night. So come ready to mingle if you're single because you never know when you will meet that special someone at the ballpark! The Nuts will also be giving out special Guitar Hero-Aerosmith prizes including: T-shirts, sweatbands, keychains, & one copy of the actual game!
The Nuts conclude their series with Bakersfield on Friday, July 18th. Come early for a chance to see "The Inner Eye," which showcases the unique artistic talents of individuals at the Howard Training Center. This documentary was produced by the Nuts very own Director of Media Services Grant Boring, so come to the ballpark and support Howard Training Center! Then be sure to stick around after the game for another terrific fireworks show!
Skills Camp
Do you have a future Major Leaguer in your house? Sign him or her up for the Modesto Nuts skills clinic. The three-day clinic (July 29, 30, 31) presented by New York Life is a great experience for all baseball players between the ages of 6-16. Your child will receive baseball instruction from the Modesto Nuts players and staff. In addition, your child will receive a t-shirt, game ticket to each Modesto Nuts game during the camp, certificate of completion and lunch each day. The camp runs from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. each day. The camp is limited to 125 participants. Entries are going fast. Call the Modesto Nuts office today at (209) 572-HITS (4487) to sign up!
Modesto Nuts Golf Tournament
The Modesto Nuts will be hosting our first ever charity golf tournament to benefit the United Way of Stanislaus County. The tournament will be held at Stevinson Ranch Golf Club on Monday, July 28th. Join the Modesto Nuts staff and players for a day on the green. Individual players are $125 while foursomes are available for $450. Space is limited, please contact the Modesto Nuts to reserve your spot!
Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest Returns to Modesto
|Fans should plan to come early when The Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest makes a stop at John Thurman Field on Tuesday, July 29th when the Modesto Nuts take on the Stockton Ports. Created and produced by Entertainment & Sports International (ESI), the 4000 square foot Principal Financial Group Family Fun Fest will be set-up just outside the main gates and will begin at 4:05 PM. The event is free and includes interactive games and exhibits.
2008 Faith Night
On Wednesday, August 27th the Modesto Nuts will be holding their 4th Annual Faith Night at John Thurman Field. Highlighting the festivities is the live pre-game performance by the Christian Rock band Hawk Nelson. Also joining the concert are Mark Stuart from Audio Adrenaline and Run Kid Run!
