SPOKANE, WA - The Spokane Indians capped off a five-game sweep of the Eugene Emeralds with a 6-3 win Monday night at Avista Stadium. With the win, the Indians move to 16-5 on the season and have won nine out of the last ten games. The Indians lead remains at three games in the Northwest League East over Tri-City.
The Indians got on the board early in the bottom of the 3rd and cruised to the victory. Designated hitter Justin Pickett went 2 for 4 with a double and an RBI. Jared Bolden, Eric Fry and Doug Hogan also had doubles.
Indians starter Neil Ramirez went four innings allowing only one hit and one run. In his first professional appearance, reliever Justin Gutsie picked up the win in one inning of work. Corey Young was awarded the save, his first of the season.
