Edmonton Elks News Release

The intensity was hot and the weather was even hotter at day three of training camp. Clear, sunny skies greeted the players as they arrived on the field at 7:45am. By the time the second practice got underway, it was already + 20.

The day started with an upbeat tone. Equipment Assistant Joey Moss joined the line up of offensive linemen during morning stretches. Moss was an ant among a sea of giants but put a smile on the players' faces and got them pumped for the upcoming drills.

Camp guests: Representatives from CFL.ca and LCF.ca were present at camp today to get footage for the upcoming season. Edmonton is the third stop for CFL.ca and LCF.ca as they make their way through all the CFL cities.

Quotable: "I was 30 seconds away from being able to watch the Celtics and Lakers in a bar!" Ed Hervey on how he felt about Pittsburgh's overtime win.

Injuries:

- Jason Tucker (back)

- Thaddaeus Washington (hamstring)

- Duane Coleman (groin)

- TJ Hollowell (groin)

- Clarence Moore (quad)

- Mike Mason (knee)

- Justin Cooper (foot)

- Lenny Williams (deep bone bruise)

Several of the injured players were working with Strength and Conditioning Coach Jeff Krushell during practice today. By the looks of it, some of them are getting stronger and will be back as soon as tomorrow. Dante Luciani's hamstring is getting better and he was able to participate in the morning session.

Add to injury list: First year OL Garrick Jones's day was cut short with a sore right ankle

Fresh from his medicals and sporting a new pair of Reeboks, Noel Prefontaine took to the field for the first time as an Eskimo. After practice, "Pre" worked with long snapper Taylor Inglis and holders Jason Maas and Stefan LeFors

Fashion faux-pas - Rookie Clarence Moore apparently didn't get the memo that the colour red doesn't play well in Edmonton. The wideout was sporting a pair of bright red high top Jordans as he watched from the sidelines today.

Stamps of approval - Receiver Fred Stamps was in the groove Tuesday, displaying deft hands and showing off his deceptive speed.

Hidden Talents: Receivers coach Mike Kelly makes a mean strawberry milkshake.
