ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves and Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) take the field in doubleheader action at Blair County Ballpark. The SeaWolves have dropped three straight and are just one game above .500. Last night's 10-9 loss to the Curve dropped the 'Wolves to four games behind first place Harrisburg in third place in Southern Division. The current three-game road losing streak is the longest of the year for Erie. Altoona snapped a six-game losing streak with the win last night over the Howlers...BCB has not been kind to the 'Wolves this season as they have dropped three of their four games against the Curve on the road...Rightie Ben Fritz makes his sixth start of the
season and his second against the Curve in game one. He went 6.2 innings in a no-decision in his last outing against Altoona allowing four runs on right hits. The SeaWolves have won all five games started by Fritz this season...Game two for the 'Wolves features RHP Matt Righter making a spot start, his first of the season. In four relief appearances this season, Righter has allowed seven runs on 10 hits in eight innings of work. He made five starts for the SeaWolves in 2007 and was 0-2 with a 7.06 ERA. Righter has faced Altoona twice in relief and in 4.2 innings, has allowed four runs on six hits with four walks and a strikeout...Altoona will send a pair of lefties to the hill tonight. Kyle Bloom will make his second start and third appearance against the 'Wolves while Brian Holliday makes his first appearance for Altoona this season.
