Altoona Curve News Release

ALTOONA- Saturday's scheduled 5:05 p.m. doubleheader between the Curve and Erie SeaWolves has been postponed due to heavy rainfall at Blair County Ballpark. The twinbill has been rescheduled for Sunday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. and will consist of two, seven-inning games per Minor League Baseball rules.

Fans holding tickets dated Saturday, May 3rd can exchange their tickets for any 2008 regular season Curve home game of equal or lesser value subject to prior sales and availability. To exchange tickets, fans can visit the Blair County Ballpark Ticket Office or call (877) 99-CURVE.

Saturday's twinbill was necessitated after the Sunday, April 20 game between the two clubs was postponed. Because this weekend marks Erie's final visit to Altoona this season, one of the postponed contests will need to be played during one of the Curve's two remaining visits to Jerry Uht Park in Erie (May 29-June 1 or July 11-14). A date for that doubleheader will be announced at a later date.

Each of Sunday's previously scheduled ballpark promotions will still be held, including the Youth Baseball Clinic (Kids 14 & Under), Kids Wooden Bat Giveaway (First 2,000 Kids, 14 & Under), Pre-Game Catch and Post-Game Kids Run the Bases. Registration for the Youth Clinic will begin at 9 a.m. and is free with a ticket to Sunday's game. The Youth Baseball Clinic, which is taught by Curve players and includes instruction on baseball fundamentals, will last until approximately Noon.

Ballpark gates will open at 1 p.m. and the first 2,000 kids in attendance (14 & Under) will take home a Kids 28-Inch Wooden Bat. Also at 1, all fans are invited to participate in the Curve's Pre-Game Catch in the outfield at Blair County Ballpark. That activity will last until 1:30. Pitching matchups for the Sunday twinbill are yet to be announced.

Great seats remain for Sunday's 2:05 p.m. doubleheader and can be purchased by visiting the Blair County Ballpark Ticket Office beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday, by calling (877) 99-CURVE or by ordering on-line at AltoonaCurve.com.
