Suns Begin Ten-Game Homestand Wednesday Afternoon!

JACKSONVILLE, FL - The Suns return to action for ten straight games at the Baseball Grounds beginning Wednesday, April 30! The Suns face the Tennessee Smokies for five games, followed by five games against the Carolina Mudcats, through Friday, May 9!

The homestand begins Wednesday, April 30, with a Businessperson Special, sponsored by Comcast, The Florida Times-Union and WOKV AM690 & 106.5 FM! Enjoy baseball in the SUNShine, where $14.00 will get a home plate box seat, a large hot dog and a large drink of choice.

The first of two Thursday Night Throwdowns this series takes place on May 1. Enjoy Buds for a Buck and Bacardi specials for $2! Thursday Night Throwdown is sponsored by Budweiser, Bacardi and Planet Radio 107.3. It's also Chevy Night - see the hottest rides from Chevrolet, courtesy of your Southern Chevy Dealers.

Friday, May 2 is Southpaw's Birthday! All kids will receive a free birthday cake ice cream treat on entrance as we celebrate the Suns' mascot's special day at the Baseball Grounds! Sponsored by Blue Bell Ice Cream, Fox 30 WAWS and 99.1 WQIK. After the game, enjoy Friday Family Fireworks, presented by NAPA Auto Parts and your local NAPA AutoCare Center Dealers.

Saturday night, May 3, is George Winterling Autographed Umbrella Giveaway night! The first 3,000 fans will receive a high-quality, weather-resistant umbrella, sponsored by Swisher Sports, WJXT TV-4 and Rock 105.

Be sure to come to the Baseball Grounds early on Sunday, May 4! The first 1,000 kids receive a set of Suns photo dog tags, featuring Suns players and more! Kids can also participate in an on-field clinic with Suns players and coaches before the game! Plus, stop by any area Gate location for a free kids general admission ticket! Presented by Eggland's Best, Gate, CW17, AM930 The Fox and 97.9 KISS FM. After the game, Kids Run the Bases, presented by MetroPCS!

The second Celebration of Reading Day is Monday, May 5, with a special late-morning game time at 11:05AM! Schoolkids from around Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia are invited! No beer will be sold this day. Sponsored by Radio Disney.

The Fifty-Cent Family Feast night returns Tuesday, May 6! Enjoy fifty-cent hot dogs, peanuts and ice cream treats, courtesy of Blue Bell Ice Cream, Hampton Farms, Folio Weekly and 99.9 Gator Country. Before the game, the Suns will honor outstanding PTA volunteers on the field. It's also Sam's Club Night - show your Sam's Club member card to receive $2 off at the box office!

The baseball excitement continues with a second Businessperson Special on May 7, sponsored by Comcast, The Florida Times-Union and WOKV AM690 & 106.5 FM, as well as another Thursday Night Throwdown on May 8, courtesy of Budwesier, Bacardi and Planet Radio 107.3.

The homestand draws to a close on Friday, May 9, with Strike Out Stroke Night and the second Scout Campout Night. Join the Suns as we raise awareness of stroke treatment and prevention and honor stroke survivors during the evening! Plus, area Boy and Girl Scouts are invited for an overnight campout and midnight movie after the game! Sponsored by UF&Shands and 99.1 WQIK. Also after the game, Friday Family Fireworks, presented by NAPA Auto Parts and your local NAPA AutoCare Center Dealers!
