The Cleveland Indians announced today that they have recalled OF Ben Francisco from the Buffalo Bisons. Francisco will be in uniform for the Tribe tonight in Kansas City.The Indians had a space on their roster after placing RHP Jake Westbrook on the disabled list.
Francisco played in 18 games with the Herd this season and hit .208 (15-72) with two doubles, a triple and three RBI. He also had two stolen bases and scored seven runs.
Last season, Francisco won the Intentional League Batting Championship with a .318 average for Buffalo. He was the first Bisons player to win a league batting title since Mark Ryal led the American Association in 1990 with a .334 average.
