Tulsa Drillers News Release
The Tulsa Drillers return home Monday to begin their second homestand of the season. The Drillers will host the Arkansas Travelers (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim) for four games April 21-24 and the Springfield Cardinals (St. Louis Cardinals) for four games April 25-28.
The eight games in the homestand will feature some different starting times. The first five games of the stand will all begin at 7:05 PM. The game on Saturday, April 26 will start at 6:35PM, while the game on Sunday, April 27 will start at 2:05PM. The final game of the stand on Monday, April 28 will begin at 10:05AM.
It will be the first meetings of the year between the Drillers and the Travelers. Tulsa split a four-game series in Springfield against the Redbirds April 17-20.
Both Arkansas and Springfield have recovered from slow starts to the season. The Travs started the year by losing their first seven games, but have now won five in a row to improve to 7-9 on the year. The Cards began the year 0-6, but have won three of their past five games to improve their record to 5-11.
The homestand will include a number of great promotions, including the year's first fireworks show following the game on Saturday, April 26. The fireworks are a part of Colorado Rockies Weekend that begins with Troy Tulowitzki T-Shirts on Thursday, April 24. The first 1,500 fans will receive Tulowitzki statues on Friday, April 25 and one lucky fan will win a trip to Denver to see the Rockies in action at Coors Field.
The Drillers will wear Rockies jerseys during the games on Friday and Saturday, and fans will have the chance to bid on the jerseys in a silent auction that will take place on Saturday.
A complete list of all promotions in the homestand is below.
Tickets for all eight games in the homestand are now available 24 hours a day, seven days a week over the Internet at TulsaDrillers.com. Tickets are also available in person at the Drillers Stadium Ticket Office or over the telephone by calling (918) 744-5901.
NOTES: Before the season began, Tulsa manager Stu Cole expected his team to bring speed to the base paths. So far that has been the case, with the Drillers second in the Texas League with 22 stolen bases, but they are also second in the league with 16 homers. . . .St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Mark Mulder is hoping to start at Drillers Stadium on Friday night for Springfield. The lefthander beat the Drillers Sunday afternoon in Springfield and is pitching in the minors on injury-rehabilitation assignments as he recovers from rotator cuff surgery.
