ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, it's the second game of a four game series between the Erie SeaWolves and the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) at Blair County Ballpark. Following a 6-1 loss to the Curve in the series opener, the SeaWolves have dropped five of their last six games, and after a 6-2 start, are now sitting at the .500 mark at 7-7. Erie looks to avoid dropping under the .500 mark for the first time this season...Defensive miscues led to the Curve getting on the board in the fifth inning last night and from that point, they scored six unanswered to take the first game of the series...Erie sends RHP Andrew Kown to the bump, making his third start of the season. Kown took a loss in his last outing to Binghamton going only four innings, allowing 10 runs, nine earned on 12 hits. Kown looks to duplicate the success of his first outing where he went six shutout in a win over Bowie. Through the first 14 games of the season, only Kown and Josh Rainwater have picked up wins out of the starting rotation...LHP Cory Hamman takes the mound for the Curve making his first start of the season. Hamman pitched for the SeaWolves parts of three different seasons (2004-05, 07). Hamman has taken losses in two of his first three appearances for the Curve; all three in relief. In his last outing against Reading, Hamman went three innings, allowing a pair of runs on three hits with two walks and two strikeouts...The SeaWolves are in a stretch where they will play Altoona in 10 of the next 16 games (six road and four at home).
