Bryan Pitton turned aside 28 shots for his third shutout of the season as the Brampton Battalion knocked off the Erie Otters 3-0 in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight in front of 2,967 at the Tullio Arena.
Cory Emmerton paced the Battalion with a goal and an assist while John Hughes and Matt Duchene also scored. Luke Lynes collected two assists to help Brampton to their fifth straight win. The Battalion are now 32-18-1-2 on the season.
The Otters lost for the third straight time to sink to 11-38-2-1.
The Battalion led 1-0 after the first and 2-0 heading into the second.
Brampton out shot the Otters 40-28 in the game as Jaroslav Janus took the loss.
The three stars of the game were all from the Battalion. Pitton was the first, Emmerton the second and Lynes the third.
The Otters wrap up weekend action tomorrow (Saturday) night when the Saginaw Spirit visit for a 7:30 p.m. start. All fans are invited to take part in a world record attempt for chip eating presented by Troyer Farms.
