Tri-City Storm News Release
KEARNEY - The Tri-City Storm of the United States Hockey League announced today that goalie, Ian O'Brien, has asked to be let go from the team. O'Brien, a first-year player from Johnstown, PA, will be joining the Mahoning Valley Phantoms of the North American Hockey League (NAHL).
"Playing time was a big factor in Ian's decision to leave. He wanted to be closer to home and play at a level he can compete and perform well. Moving forward, we wish him nothing but the best," said head coach and general manager Bliss Littler.
O'Brien played in six games with the Storm and finished with a 1-3 record. He recorded 81 saves on 100 shots.
