Sonics & Storm Unveil Holiday Assist, Driven by Kia Motors

SEATTLE, Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 - The holiday season will be much brighter for nearly 600 Seattle area families, thanks to the Seattle SuperSonics & Storm, their community partners and one of their leading corporate partners. The Sonics & Storm today announced their month-long Holiday Assist, driven by Kia Motors America. The community initiative involves approximately 250 volunteer hours and more than $50,000 in donations from players, coaches, Sonics & Storm employees and Kia Motors America.

"The Sonics and Storm are more committed than ever to reaching out to the community," said Danny Barth, Sonics CEO and President. "This year's Holiday Assist effort is actually more robust and significant than any we have done. Our players, coaches and employees, along with Kia Motors and our community partners are thrilled and proud to be able to deliver holiday cheer to those in our community who need assistance. We are especially appreciative of the generosity of Kia Motors, which becomes the first corporate sponsor we've ever had play an active role in our community holiday program." Barth added.
