Idaho Stampede News Release
BOISE, Idaho (November 15, 2007) - Your Idaho Stampede have partnered with Bank of the Cascades and Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho to put together a new program called 'Swishes for Wishes'. For every three-point basket made during the 2007-08 Idaho Stampede season, Bank of the Cascades will donate ten dollars to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho.
"With 56 children waiting for their wishes to be granted, the partnership that Bank of the Cascades and Idaho Stampede have set up to benefit Make-A-Wish of Idaho is a wonderful gift to us," said Marcia Karakas, CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho. "We are very excited about the partnership and appreciative of everyone's efforts to help us to complete our mission and bring joy and happiness to our courageous kids."
The program will run during the 2007-08 season, culminating with Make A Wish Night during the March 29, 2008 game versus the Utah Flash. Pre-purchased tickets through a special promotion for that game will see a portion donated to the Make A Wish Foundation of Idaho. In addition, a recipient family will see their wish granted and be recognized at the game.
During the 2006-07, the Stampede as a team drained 283 total three-point field goals. With the return of a few sharpshooters to the lineup, there should be plenty of long-range jumpers falling this season, which means a lot of 'Swishes for Wishes'.
