West Michigan Whitecaps News Release
COMSTOCK PARK, MI - Four authentic Kenny Rogers autographed bobbleheads will be randomly inserted into the 1,000 bobbleheads to be handed out prior to the Whitecaps playoff game on Thursday, September 6.
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the first pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. for Game 2 of the Whitecaps first-round series with the Lansing Lugnuts on September 6. Lansing clinched a second half playoff berth Tuesday and will face the 'Caps in a best-of-three game series as the Whitecaps begin their quest to win back-to-back Midwest League Championships.
"The playoff game is turning out to be one of our best promotional nights of the season," said Marketing Manager Mickey Graham. "Along with the excitement that the playoffs bring, fans will definitely enjoy themselves at the ballpark on September 6, and they could win a one-of-a-kind bobblehead signed by Kenny Rogers."
The signed Kenny Rogers bobbleheads adds to the fun-filled night already full of promotions, food specials, fireworks and a post-game party with the band Domestic Problems.
The Domestic Problems show will require a special ticket, which can be purchased for $12. The ticket will include admission to the Miller Lite House Deck for the Whitecaps playoff game and the post-game show. Only 300 tickets will be sold. September 6 is also an Altogas Thrifty Thursday with food specials including $2 - 22 ounce Pepsis, $2 - 20 ounce draft beers, two hot dogs for $2 and $2 soft pretzels.
Fans can also enjoy a Farm Bureau Insurance fireworks show following the Whitecaps playoff game as well as the opportunity to play catch on the field prior to the game from 6:15-6:30.
Steak 'N Shake is also offering fans the chance to get a free playoff ticket. With every purchase of the new double grilled chicken sandwich, the new double spicy chicken sandwich or the new double breaded chicken sandwich from Steak 'N Shake restaurants in Grand Rapids and Holland, fans will receive a voucher good for one reserved seat to any 2007 Whitecaps playoff game. The vouchers can also be used for the first or second home game of the Whitecaps 2008 season.
