51s Return Home To Face First Place Sacramento From August 10-13

LAS VEGAS: The Las Vegas 51s professional baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL), Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, will open a brief four-game home stand beginning on Friday, August 10 against the Sacramento River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland A's, at Cashman Field.

The 51s, under manager Lorenzo Bundy, will conclude an eight-game Midwest road trip today against the Iowa Cubs. Las Vegas has a record of 55-62 (fourth place) in the Pacific Southern Division and trail the first-place River Cats (68-50) by 12.5 games. Las Vegas has compiled a 15-3 (.833) record at Cashman Field from July 2-31.

The Las Vegas franchise reached the 300,000 mark in "home" attendance for the 25th consecutive season (1983 - 2007). In 59 dates, Las Vegas' total is 304,083 for an average of 5,154. The 51s have recorded four sellouts with a season-high crowd of 12,179 on July 3.

The series opener on Friday will begin at 7:11 p.m. The game will feature 51s Baseball Bat Night given out to the first 2,500 fans in attendance.

Game two of the series on Saturday night will also begin at 7:11 p.m. A spectacular post-game "Fireworks Show" will be presented.

Sunday's game will feature a matinee contest at 12:05 p.m. and the series finale on Monday, August 13 will begin at 7:11 p.m. The four-game series will mark the final meeting this season between the 51s and River Cats.

Las Vegas is currently in a stretch of playing 17 of 21 games on the road from August 1-21. The 51s will embark on a nine-game road trip beginning in Colorado Springs, Colo. Las Vegas will face the Sky Sox, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, in a five-game series from Tuesday-Friday, August 14-17. A double-header is scheduled for Wednesday, August 15 as a make up to the game that was postponed (snow) on April 12.

Las Vegas will then travel to the Pacific Northwest to face the Portland Beavers, Triple-A affiliate of the San Diego Padres, in a four-game series from Saturday-Tuesday, August 18-21.

The 51s will then return to Cashman Field for the final home stand of the '07 season from August 22-30 against Tucson and Tacoma.

Tickets for all 51s home games can be purchased at the Cashman Field Box Office. The box office is open Monday-Friday from Noon to 4:30 p.m. Tickets can also be purchased through TicketMaster (474-4000, www.ticketmaster.com). TicketMaster outlets are located at selected Smith's Food & Drug, Ritmo Latino and Macy's, located at The Fashion Show & The Galleria Mall.

The individual game tickets for the 72-game home season are priced at $8.00 (general admission), $9.00 (reserved), $11.00 (plaza) and $13 (field). The traditional $2.00 discount for Military personnel is offered on plaza, reserved and G.A. seats throughout the season except for the holiday fireworks shows that were featured on June 30 & July 3.
