CARSON, Calif. (Monday, March 26, 2007) - The Los Angeles Galaxy won the inaugural USL-MLS Challenge last week in Puerto Rico, giving the club its first trophy of 2007. Wins over the Rochester Rhinos, 3-2 on Thursday night, and the host Puerto Rico Islanders, 2-1 on Saturday night, gave L.A. the title.

Defender Chris Albright, forward Nate Jaqua and midfielder Kyle Martino each scored twice in the tournament, with Jaqua grabbing the game-winner in each contest. After the wins, the Galaxy are now 8-1-2 in the preseason with one match still to play before the club's April 8 season opener in Houston against the defending MLS Cup champion Dynamo.

GALAXY RESERVES LEARN OPPONENTS: On Thursday, MLS officially unveiled the complete Reserve Division schedule for the 2007 season. The Galaxy will play 12 games (six home, six away) from May 13-October 7, playing every team except for the Chicago Fire. The Galaxy's complete Reserve Division schedule can be found below, with all of the club's home Reserve Division matches being played on University Field #1.

INTERNATIONAL INCIDENTS: It was an international weekend and as a result, a number of Galaxy players were involved with their respective National Teams. In Tampa, Fla., Landon Donovan grabbed all the headlines as he scored his second career hat trick with the National Team in a 3-1 win over Ecuador. Donovan scored in the 1st, 66th and 67th minutes, moving him into a tie for second place on the National Team's all-time scoring charts. Donovan now has 30 goals in 87 career appearances with the National Team, tying him with Brian McBride for second place all-time in goals scored, just four behind the all-time leader Eric Wynalda.

While Donovan was helping the U.S. beat Ecuador, Galaxy trialist Kevin Harmse was doing the same for Canada in their match against Bermuda. Canada got three first half goals to win 3-0 and Harmse made his full National Team debut in the match. With his squad already ahead 3-0 in the 75th minute, Harmse replaced Julian de Guzman for the game's final 15 minutes in central midfield.

While Donovan and Harmse were playing, Quavas Kirk was training with the U.S. Under-20's in Frisco, Texas. Kirk is part of a 20-man squad that will train at Pizza Hut Park until Thursday.

ALBRIGHT TOPS THE CHARTS: With just one game remaining on the Galaxy's preseason schedule, defender Chris Albright is in the pole position to finish as the club's top scorer in the preseason. The former forward has found his scoring touch so far this preseason, tallying a team-high four goals, including two last week at the USL-MLS Challenge in Puerto Rico. Those four goals give Albright a two goal cushion over a hosts of player who have each scored twice so far.

FINAL TUNEUP ON TAP: The Galaxy will play their final game of the 2007 preseason on Friday afternoon when they host the California Victory at The Home Depot Center. The Victory, a new USL First Division team based in San Francisco, will take on the Galaxy at 2 p.m. on University Field #1.

GALAXY DEPORTIVO IS BACK: Galaxy Deportivo, the Galaxy's official Spanish language, weekly, half-hour show focused debuted last weekend on KWHY - Channel 22. The show gives Galaxy fans the inside scoop on all things Galaxy through player profiles and features while discussing all the latest information surrounding the club.

Galaxy Deportivo, which is hosted by Elmer Polanco and Alejandro Navarro, will air every Saturday through the end of the 2007 MLS season at 3:30 p.m. on KWHY - Channel 22.

FAN FEST RETURNS ON APRIL 1: As announced earlier this month, the Galaxy will host their annual Fan Fest on Sunday, April 1 at 2 p.m. at The Home Depot Center. This event, which is free to all fans, will feature raffles, interactive booths and family-friendly entertainment, as well as the chance to tour the Galaxy locker room, watch the team's training session on the stadium field and get autographs following training.
