Waterloo, Iowa- The Cedar Rapids RoughRiders' Tommy Wingels was named East Division Player of the Game after scoring two power play goals- with help from the Riders' Robin Bergman and Pat Cannone- to rally the East Divison from a 2-0 third period deficit in Tuesday night's United States Hockey League Prospects/All-Star Game, but the West Division would pull away for a 7-3 win.

The East was up 5-on-3 when Wingels took a Cannone feed and buried the puck from the side of the net to cut the West lead to 2-1 just 54 seconds into the third.

The East stars were up one man when Wingels tied the game at two at 4:22 of the third, this time with an assist from Bergman. Wingels jammed the puck home from the crease after West goaltender Matt Dalton stopped Bergman's deflection from the slot.

The West bounced back to secure the win by outscoring the East 5-1 the rest of the way.

Wingels, 18, has scored seven goals and totaled 18 points in 23 games with the RoughRiders this season. The Miami of Ohio recruit was ranked one hundred forty-seventh in the National Hockey League Central Scouting Service's recently released mid-season rankings of North American skaters eligible for the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Riders selected Wingels, a native of Wilmette, Illinois, in the second round of the 2005 USHL Futures Draft with the fifteenth overall choice.

Bergman, 18, has notched 15 goals and 29 points in 27 games for Cedar Rapids this year. A Notre Dame recruit, Bergman was ranked one hundred forty-seventh among draft eligible North American-based skaters by NHL Central Scouting at mid-season. The Stockholm, Sweden, native played in his homeland for Hammary IF last season before joining the Riders this year.

Cannone, 20, is the Riders' second leading point scorer, having produced 12 goals and 18 assists for a total of 30 points in 34 games. Cannone, like Wingels, will play college hockey at Miami. The Riders tabbed the Bayport, New York native in the twentieth round of last May's USHL Draft with the one hundred eighty-fourth overall choice.

The Riders' Jacob Cepis and Kevin Wehrs also skated for the East Division All-Stars Tuesday night.

The RoughRiders (22-12-1, 45 points) are currently tied for first place in the USHL's East Division. The Riders return to action with a pair of games this weekend. The Riders will visit the Des Moines Buccaneers Friday night before returning home to take on the Ohio Junior Blue Jackets Saturday evening at 7:05.
