Kebekwa get best of Matrix in opening game
November 25, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Montreal Royal News Release
Montreal, Canada. The ABA Montreal Matrix hosted its first game with Canadian rival Quebec City Kebekwa on Friday in a highly anticipated battle of two good teams - and the Kebekwa came out on top, 96-85.
As soon as the game began, Montreal took control and was leading at the half 51-40. However, when one of Montreal's stars was ejected because of technical fouls, the situation changed dramatically. "We'll be ready for the next game," stated GM/co-owner Tito Destin. "We need to put things together. We are much better than our record shows."
Bobby Miller led the Matrix with 18 followed by Shawn Brown's 14. Former Matrix player Manix Auriantal led Quebec with 23. The teams squared off again on Saturday night.
