Vermont Frost Heaves News Release
Dear Friends of the Frost Heaves,
All the members of the team-staff and players alike-are counting our blessings as we observe Thanksgiving, and at the top of our lists is a huge "thank you" to all our fans for their support of the team thus far. We drew 1,200 and 1,100 people, respectively, to our openers in Barre and Burlington. These almost-full houses not only witnessed Frost Heaves victories, but also saw in person how fast-paced and exciting ABA basketball can be.
For a few of you the experience wasn't 100% ideal, and we're grateful for your feedback about how we can improve "Vermont's Own Pro Basketball Experience." Among our priorities will be food vending (expect mo', better items on offer, especially in Barre, where we have more say in the operation) and crowd flow (in Burlington we'll be adding an extra line for fans with tickets, so they can avoid the congestion at the will call and walk-up ticket windows). We're also exploring an additional ticket pick-up spot for central Vermonters.
As I write this, the team is on the road, headed to Cape Cod for back-to-back games this weekend against the Frenzy, which like the Frost Heaves are 3-1. (You can listen on WSNO AM 1450 Barre, WJOY AM 1230 Burlington, and over the Internet at vermontfrostheaves.com. Tip-off is at 7:05 p.m, on Saturday, and at 6:05-not 4:05, as indicated on our schedule-on Sunday.) I know that Coach Voigt and our players, fortified by turkey and the warm embrace of Vermonters and Vermonters-at-heart like yourself, will represent the state well.
In the meantime, please make plans to join us for our next three home games. On Thursday, Dec. 7, we'll host the Chicago Rockstars to the Aud, with a secret weapon on our bench, The Logger himself, Northfield Savings Bank 110% Community All-Star and former Champlain College player Rusty Dewees. Two nights later, on Saturday, Dec. 9 and again in Barre, we'll welcome back the Kebekwa of Quebec City. And on Thursday, Dec. 14, the Frost Heaves welcome to Burlington's Memorial Auditorium the defending champion Rochester Razorsharks, who are off to a 4-0 start. It will be ABA Retro Night, so break out those over-the-calf tube socks and be part of all the fun!
Tickets for these and all Frost Heaves games are available through the Flynn Regional Box Office, 802-86-FLYNN, flynntix.org, or in person at 153 Main Street in Burlington or 159 Pearl Street in Essex. Tickets for games in Barre are available at the Barre Opera House during regular box office hours, Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5. To book your group of 10 or more, call our office directly at 802-860-0082. And for all your holiday shopping needs, be sure to check out our full selection of Frost Heaves gear at vermontfrostheaves.com/store, where you'll find tees, caps, beanies, hoodies, balls and even miniature Bump the Moose dolls.
Thank you again!
Sincerely,
Alexander Wolff
President & G.M.
