Ortmeyer Returns From San Antonio

PHOENIX, Ariz. - The Phoenix RoadRunners of the ECHL, a proud affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes and the San Antonio Rampage, have announced that defenseman Jake Ortmeyer has been released from his professional tryout offer (PTO) with San Antonio of the American Hockey League and has returned to the team.

Ortmeyer, 29, lead all RoadRunners' defensemen and is tied for third among ECHL blue liners in scoring with three goals and seven points in four games. The Omaha, Neb. Native was loaned to San Antonio on Saturday and made his AHL debut that night in a 5-3 Rampage win over Hamilton.

In other transactions, the RoadRunners have activated goaltender Josh Tordjman from the injured reserve. Assigned prior to the start of the season by the Coyotes, Tordjman is 2-1-0 this year with a 3.68 goals against average and will join the team for their two-game road trip at Fresno and at Stockton Friday and Saturday.

The RoadRunners have also placed defenseman Nikita Korovkin on the three-day injured reserve and forward Scott Seney on the seven day injured reserve. The club also released forward Aaron Slattengren. Slattengren appeared in just one game with the RoadRunners and did not record a point.

The RoadRunners open their first road trip of the season as they travel to Fresno to battle the Falcons at 8:35 p.m. Friday from the Save Mart Center. Catch all the action live at www.phxroadrunners.com beginning with "RoadRunners Countdown" at 8:15 p.m.
