Frenzy set to open training camp

October 19, 2006 - American Basketball Association (ABA) Cape Cod Frenzy

Orleans, MA. The ABA Cape Cod Frenzy are ready to open their two week training camp. The camp will be held at Willy's Gym & Conference Center in Eastham, MA beginning Monday at 530pm. The session is closed to the public except for Willy's Gym members. For information on a day pass or a membership please contact Willy's Gym at 508 255 6370 or visit www.willysgym.com.

Some of the Frenzy's players have arrived on the Cape this week such as point Steve Hailey and shooting guard Rashid Al-Kaleem. The players have been working out very hard with Asst Coach/trainer Noopy Teixeira. In addition to running and weight training, the players have been working with the Frenzy's new shooting machine, "The Gun."

"We've been doing shooting drills and some competitions which have been fun to go along with the weight lifting and running we've been doing," said Teixeira. "One problem we will not have is guys not in top physical condition."

The training camp will focus on conditioning the players as well as implementing Head Coach Keith Clark's offenses and defensive schemes. Following the training camp, the Frenzy are planning some upcoming scrimmages of interest to be announced shortly. The training roster along with player bios is available on the Frenzy website. The team opens its ABA season on the road in Montreal and Quebec on November 10th and 11th. The home opener is November 19th against Montreal. For more information, contact Frenzy GM Ian McCarthy at ian@capecodfrenzy.com or visit www.capecodfrenzy.com or www.abalive.com. Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams.
