Jay Caligiuri's walk-off RBI single scored Wilson Batista in the bottom of the eighth, giving the Binghamton Mets a come-from-behind, 3-2, extra-inning victory over the Altoona Curve last night at NYSEG Stadium...earlier in the evening, Jorge Padilla drove in three runs in a 4-3 victory over the Curve in the completion of a game suspended Friday night...Caligiuri was 2 for 4 with 2 RBI in the regularly schedule contest. Batista also had a pair of singles, while the bullpen tossed 7 1/3 inning of scoreless relief...Bobby Malek scored three times in the suspended game while Yunir Garcia picked up a pair of hits...the back-to-back wins guarantee Binghamton a series win over the Curve.

About Binghamton

Four of the last five games played by the B-Mets have gone into extra innings, as they've played 49 innings over their last four days...Seven of Binghamton's last eight home games have been decided by one run, with the B-Mets winning five of them. Overall, 13 of Binghamton's last 15 contests have been decided by two runs or fewer...the B-Mets relief corps continued their fine work last night, yielding just three unearned runs in 14 1/3 innings of work between the regularly-scheduled and suspended contests...the 'pen has allowed just five runs - two earned - in their last eight games, giving up a mere 15 hits over 34 1/3 innings of work...This comes after allowing four runs and blowing a save in an extra-inning loss 5/12 @ ALT, G1.

About Altoona

The Curve were off Thursday after taking two of three from Reading to start the week. Before their back-to-back losses, Altoona had won seven of eight, including a four-game sweep of the B-Mets at Blair County Ballpark last weekend...Altoona leads the league with 202 runs scored (4.8/game) and are second in batting average (.268) and home runs (30)...the Curve pitchers have posted a 3.12 ERA, good for sixth in the 12-team EL...Altoona's managed by Tim Leiper, who began his coaching career as Binghamton's hitting coach in 1996 under manager John Tamargo.

RHP Alay Soler was called up to the NY Mets last night. Soler, 1-0, 2.75 in three B-Mets starts, is expected to get a start for the Mets this week. He is the first player to be called up to the Majors straight from Binghamton since 1B/C Mike Jacobs 8/17/05...starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey lasted just 2/3 of an inning last night, making him the first B-Met starter to be bounced in the first since Matt Lindstrom went 1/3 of an inning in a 9-5 loss 6/15 vs. NH...today, the B-Mets are playing the last of their 13 consecutive games without a designated hitter. This is their fourth consecutive series against a fellow National League affiliate.

Binghamton debut was a relief appearance 5/13 @ ALT (2 IP, 0 R, 0 H, BB, 2 K)...pitched final two innings of Binghamton's 5-0 loss, but didn't figure in the decision...retired six of the seven to face him, walking Rafael Alvarez in the eighth...flyout to right by Craig Stansberry was the only ball hit to the outfield off him.
