Western Conference Semi Final Begins Tonight

The first game of the Western Conference Semi Final between the Owen Sound Attack and the London Knights is at 7:30pm tonight at the John Labatt Centre in London. Fans can listen to Bear Radio on 560 CFOS or on the internet at www.attackhockey.com. It will also be broadcast live on Rogers Cable Channel 53. Game 2 of the series is Saturday, April 8 at the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound at 7:30pm. The box office will be open starting at 9am Saturday morning and will be open throughout the day. The gates will open at 6:30pm. Fans are reminded to wear white in support of the Attack.

The Knights have been idle for 10 days after sweeping the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. The Attack has been resting for 7 days after eliminating the Kitchener Rangers in 5 games.

The London Knights won the regular season series between the two teams with 4 wins to 2 by the Attack, with most of the games being just a 1 goal difference.

The London Knights feature 4 of the top 10 in playoff scoring as well as the top rookie in playoff scoring.

The Owen Sound Attack has 2 of the top 3 in playoff scoring for defenceman in Bob Sanguinetti and Andrej Sekera.

In the goaltending department the Owen Sound Attack has the edge. Attack goaltender Michael Ouzas is 4th in Playoff Goals Against Average at 2.47 while London's Adam Dennis is 10th at 3.16. Michael Ouzas is 3rd in Playoff Save Percentage at .931 while Adam Dennis is 5th at .925.

The London Knights have the top Power Play in the playoffs at 32.14% while the Attack is 5th in the OHL at 22.73%. However in the Penalty Kill department the Attack leads the OHL at 90.24% while the Knights are 9th in the OHL at 82.86%.
