Florence, Ky. - The Newport Aquarium and the Florence Freedom are teaming up to excite the fans this baseball season with Newport Aquarium Family Sundays.

Adding aquatic entertainment to the action on the baseball field, the Aquarium will "sharkify" Florence Freedom's Kids Zone. Headlining the fun will be the Aquarium's Shark Squad who will drive the bases in their VW Beetle "Sharkmobile" and help teach kids about sharks. The Shark Squad strives to make education fun through the use of activities, games and prizes. Kids will be able to get "in touch" with animals, get splashed in the "cool pool" or get tagged with a temporary Shark Squad tattoo.

"We are psyched and ready to have a ball during the games," said Shark Squad team leader Beth Pfeffer. "Newport Aquarium Family Sundays are sure to be a hit with fans young and old."

Last season the Newport Aquarium sponsored one Florence Freedom game and had much success with their on-field giveaways and entertainment for the fans.

The success of last season's partnership excites the Freedom's CEO, Clint Brown. "We are pleased to partner with the Newport Aquarium on our Sunday Family games. We think it is a great pairing as both organizations share the same passion for entertaining families. Our younger fans will enjoy the additional entertainment that the Newport Aquarium will provide during the games and parents will appreciate the special offers to visit the Newport Aquarium distributed at the games."

The Florence Freedom will also be adding to the family-friendly atmosphere. Clowns and face painters will be on the concourse throughout the games and kids will once again be able to run the bases when the baseball is over for the night.
