INDIANAPOLIS -- Robert Portnoy has officially joined the Indianapolis Indians full-time staff, while Sherard Allen, David Harris and Greg Gilbertson have also been added to the Tribe's front office.

Portnoy continues to work as a radio broadcaster and account executive. He joined the Tribe last February after serving as the lead announcer for Double-A Huntsville (Ala.) in 2003-04, High-A Kinston (N.C.) in 2000-02 and High-A San Jose (Calif.) in 1998-99. Portnoy earned Southern League Broadcaster of the Year accolades as "Voice of the Stars" in 2004. After graduating from Stanford University, he competed as a touring golf professional before moving behind the microphone.

"We are pleased to have Robert with us on a full-time basis," Tribe General Manager Cal Burleson says. "This is the first time the Indians have had two members of their broadcast team representing the organization year-round. Not only did Rob do an outstanding job on our 2005 broadcasts, but he will represent us well in a sales and broadcast planning capacity in the off-season."

Allen (graphic designer) and Harris (video producer) have both been promoted after completing internships with the Indians. Gilbertson (ticket sales executive) comes to the Tribe after spending the 2005 campaign as a stadium operations intern with the Triple-A Colorado Springs Sky Sox.

Allen, a native of Jeffersonville, began his collegiate career at Butler University before transferring to IUPUI, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in computer graphics technology (May 2004). Allen joined the Tribe in June 2004 after serving as a multimedia development services assistant at IUPUI's University College (Nov. 2001-June 2004).

Harris, a native of Indianapolis, earned his bachelor's degree in media arts & television production from Butler University (May 2005). In addition to working with the Indians as an intern, Harris has served as the large screen video director at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for several races -- Indy 500, Brickyard 400 and U.S. Grand Prix -- over the past two years.

Gilbertson, a native of Manhasset, N.Y., earned his bachelor's degree in business administration & marketing from American University (May 2000) and two master's degrees in business management & entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado (May 2004).

"We are excited about having Sherard, David and Greg on our full-time staff," Burleson says. "Sherard will play a key role in how we communicate with our fans. David will be charged with the responsibility of how to best use our video capabilities, which have become such a key part of our overall entertainment package. Greg brings the perspective of having performed many different tasks for Colorado Springs to his role with the Indians."
