
Blast to open the season at home on November 11

Baltimore - The Baltimore Blast announced today that the team will open the 2005-06 MISL season Friday, November 11 at 1st Mariner Arena against the expansion California Cougars. The Blast will play 30 games this season; 15 at home and 15 on the road.
2005-06 season highlights include five games against the Cougars and five matches against the 2005 MISL Champion Milwaukee Wave. The Wave will make its first trip to Baltimore on Saturday, December 10 and the Blast will travel to Milwaukee for the first time on January 6.
The Blast will play seven home games on Friday nights, seven on Saturday nights and one home Sunday-afternoon home game (March 26). All of the 15 home games will be played at 7:35 p.m., with the exception of the Sunday, March 26th game that will kick off at 5:05 p.m.
Keeping with the Baltimore Blast tradition of affordable family entertainment, fans will be treated to various promotional items throughout the season including replica jersey T-shirts, soccer balls and bobble heads. The team will host a variety of theme nights including Boy and Girl Scout night and two free post-game concerts, the first of which will feature the popular Christian rock band Kutless. In addition, the Blast will host a Hall of Fame Night to celebrate the franchise's 26 seasons in Baltimore and will induct additional members into the Hall of Fame.
Several veteran players will return to the playing field for the upcoming season, including Lee Tschantret, Danny Kelly and Denison Cabral. In addition, local players P.J. Wakefield, Billy Nelson and Giuliano Celenza will be back to represent Baltimore.
The MISL will feature six teams this season, and will play each other team five times. In addition to the Blast, the California Cougars, Philadelphia KiXX, Milwaukee Wave, St. Louis Steamer and Chicago Storm will field teams this year. The Kansas City Comets and Cleveland Force have been granted a hiatus for the 2005-06 MISL season.
Blast season tickets and mini-plans are on sale now by calling the Blast office at 410-73-BLAST. Single-game tickets will go on sale in October.
