Ottawa Lynx News Release
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Lynx are pleased to announce that they will be making a donation of over $2,700 to the Canadian Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund to aid the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The monies collected for this contribution came from donations made by Lynx fans to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund Collection over the last four games of the 2005 regular season, and the sale of Mardi Gras beads by staff from Fat Tuesday's restaurant on the last day of the regular season.
The donations will go toward the Red Cross, who will use the funds to provide shelter, food, counseling and other assistance to those in need.
