JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Sergio Garcia's three-run home run in the fourth inning put the team ahead for good, propelling the Suns to their seventh consecutive victory, an 8-4 victory over the Montgomery Biscuits in front of 7,485 fans Thursday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

With a Birmingham loss, or a Suns win Friday, the Suns would clinch the South Division first half title and qualify for the post-season for the first time in three seasons.

Jon Weber went 4-for-4 and has hit safely in 11 consecutive games. He has 17 hits in his last 23 at bats.

Suns starter Joel Hanrahan (4-3) earned the victory, pitching a season-long 6-1/3 innings, walking none. He gave up a two-run home run to Elijah Dukes in the fourth and back-to-back doubles to Dukes and Wes Bankston to begin the seventh. The Suns (38-29) answered with runs in the bottom halves of both innings, negating the Biscuits' surges.

Delwyn Young hit a two-run home run to boost the Suns to a 6-2 lead in the fifth inning off Biscuits starter Brian Lockwood (2-5). Lockwood allowed the home run to Garcia, his first since August 14, 2004.

In his Suns debut, Andy LaRoche batted cleanup and started at third base. He doubled home Weber in the seventh, padding the lead to 7-4. LaRoche went 1-for-4 and struck out twice.

Richard Bartlett induced a game-ending double play to earn his second save.

Right-hander Edwin Jackson makes his first start with the Suns and will oppose Montgomery right-hander Jason Hammel (4-2, 3.19 ERA) at 7:05 p.m. Friday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville.

SUNS SPOTS: Weber has hits in 18 of 19 games, going 36-for-80 (.450) in that span. The Suns are 31-3 when scoring five or more runs. ...LF Tydus Meadows did not play because of a sore groin. He is day-to-day.
