Gary SouthShore Railcats News Release

The Gary SouthShore RailCats (Northern League) have sent left-handed pitcher Eric White to the Sioux Falls Canaries to complete an earlier trade, the club announced today.

White, 26, went 0-1 with a 4.61 ERA in 11 relief appearances this season for the RailCats. The 6-2 lefty, who pitched for Cook County of the Frontier League in 2003, struck out 12 batters, but also allowed four home runs in 13.2 innings this year. White is the player to be named later in the April 13 trade that brought catcher Rich Rodrigues to the RailCats.

The RailCats (10-21) will take on rival Schaumburg (22-9) Wednesday night at U. S. Steel Yard in the first of a four-game split home-and-home series. Wednesday is Dollar Night, when each of the first 1,000 fans will receive a voucher for a $1 hot dog, courtesy of Armour. All fans can purchase popcorn and soft drinks for only $1 at U. S. Steel Yard concession stands all night long. Wednesday is also Hoosier Lotto Night. All non-winning Hoosier Lottery tickets can be redeemed for $1 off box and reserved seat game tickets and selected lucky fans will win free Hoosier Lotto tickets. Plus, the first 1,000 fans through the gates will pick up the second RailCats picture pack of the season, sponsored by Great Lakes Orthopedics. Additionally, residents of St. John and Dyer can get $2 off the price of box and reserved seat tickets (with valid photo ID) on St. John and Dyer Community Night. (First pitch: 7 p.m.). The game will also be broadcast on the RailCats Radio Network, including WEFM 95.9, WJOB AM 1230, and www.sportsjuice.com, with pre-game coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m.
