Jason Alfaro drilled a 3-2 fastball over the left center field wall to clear the bases in the sixth inning as the Zephyrs defeated the Sacramento Rivercats 9-5 at Raley Field on Saturday. The grand slam home run for Alfaro was his third slam of the season and his tenth home run .... Dave Williams earned his first win as a Zephyr working 5 and a third innings and allowed 3 runs. Chip Ambres and Fernando Tatis also hammered home runs in the contest for the Z's. Sacramento starting pitcher Mike Madsen suffered the defeat for the Rivercats. The Z's split the series with the first place Rivercats. Jesus Feliciano made terrific catch in centerfield to end the fourth inning and was knocked unconscious when he the hit the ground. The game was delayed sixteen minutes as an ambulance was needed to rush the centerfielder to the hospital. It was the second time in three days a Zephyr player was rushed to a local hospital.

Game Notes: Zephyr manager Ken Oberkfell was on field prior to Saturday's game to honor Sacramento native and Major League great Dusty Baker ... Oberkfell was a team mate of Baker for the National League Champion San Francisco Giants in 1989 .... The grand slam by the Z's was the teams 8th of the season .... New Orleans played the final five innings of the game with two non outfielders playing the outfield. Catcher Robinson Cancel played left and Jason Alfaro played right. The first place Zephyrs have won 12 of their last 15 games .. The Z's have a four game lead on Oklahoma for first place in the PCL American South Division with 30 games to play..... Z's outfielder Ben Johnson was flown to New York and will have surgery on his ankle on Monday.

Coming Up: The Zephyrs make the 175 mile trek to Fresno, California to open a four game set against the Grizzlies on Sunday night. Adam Bostick pitches for the Z's and Matt Palmer starts for the Grizzlies in the 8:00 p.m. game at Grizzlies Stadium.
