
Zephyrs Open Nine-Game Homestand On Friday

Metairie, LA - The New Orleans Zephyrs will kick off a nine-game homestand on Friday at 7:00 p.m. when they welcome the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Florida Marlins, to Zephyr Field. The Zephyrs currently sit in third place the Pacific Coast League American South Division, 4.5 games behind Oklahoma. The Zephyrs have begun an important stretch of the schedule, playing 20 consecutive games against division rivals. At 14-9, the Zephyrs will enter the homestand boasting one of the league's best home records. The series pitching matchups are as follows: Friday 7 pm vs. Albuquerque: RH Tony Armas (2-4) vs. RH Bobby Keppel (6-2) Saturday 6 pm vs. Albuquerque: LH Willie Collazo (1-1) vs. RH Gaby Hernandez (2-3) Sunday 2 pm vs. Albuquerque: RH Ruddy Lugo (3-2) vs. RH Dallas Trahern (0-4) Monday 12 pm vs. Albuquerque: RH Brian Stokes (4-5) vs. RH Eulogio De La Cruz (5-2) The traditional fireworks show will follow Friday's contest, and Saturday's postgame entertainment will be headlined by a concert by the Rebirth Brass Band. Bring along your dog for Sunday's 2:00 p.m. game and take a spot on the Levee to enjoy the game with "man's best friend." Take in afternoon baseball on a special Memorial Day start time of 12:00 p.m. on Monday. The Zephyrs begin a five-game series with the Round Rock Express on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to bring two canned goods to the stadium for Two Can Tuesday, where they can purchase two tickets for the price of one. After dollar hot dogs on Weenie Wednesday, there will be two baseball games for the price of one on Thursday, May 29, as the Zephyrs and Express will play a doubleheader beginning at 6:00 p.m., when beer and soda will be available $1. Another fireworks show wraps up the homestand on Friday, May 30, "Salute To Scrubs Night," as those wearing scrubs or showing their medical identification will receive $5 admission, and there will be special giveaways throughout the game.
