New Orleans Baby Cakes News Release
Metairie, LA - The New Orleans Zephyrs host the Reno Aces and Colorado Springs Sky Sox for an eight-game homestand, beginning Friday at 7:00 p.m.
Despite putting up some big offensive numbers, the Zephyrs dropped six of eight games on a west coast road trip that concluded Wednesday. The Z's have been led by Jose Lopez, whose .402 batting average since the All-Star break is the fifth-best in the Pacific Coast League, and whose eight home runs since the break are third-most behind teammate Chris Aguila. Aguila has slammed 10 homers since the break, including three over his last two games, and is closing in on the New Orleans career record of 56 home runs, set by J.R. Phillips (1997-98, 2000). Aguila enters the homestand with 52 home runs as a Zephyr.
The pitching probables for the series:
Friday 7 p.m.:
RH Tom Koehler (8-6, 5.19 ERA) vs. RH Gaby Hernandez (4-4, 6.67 ERA)
Saturday 6 p.m.:
RH Chris Sampson (7-0, 3.86) vs. LH Wade Miley (3-1, 4.17)
