
Zech, Levin Selected in Phase II of USHL Draft

Odessa, TX - The Odessa Jackalopes, proud members of the North American Hockey League, are excited to announce that defensive duo of Cooper Zech, 17, and Jake Levin, 19, were both selected during Tuesday's phase II of the USHL Draft (Tier 1). Jackalopes tender Trevor Zenas, 18, was also selected Tuesday.
Cooper (5-8/150), who is committed to Alaska-Fairbanks (WCHA, D1) in 2017-18, was taken in the 10th round, number 160 overall, by the Bloomington Thunder who are led by former Amarillo Bulls Head Coach and GM Dennis Williams. Zech was named to the NAHL All-Rookie team after collecting 25 points (8-17-25) in 51 games played. The round earlier, the Thunder selected another Jackalope' in the form of forward tender' Trevor Zenas (6-1/167) in the 9th round, 147 overall. Zenas played 2015-16 with Fox Motors 18U, collecting 13 goals and 18 assists in 32 games played.
Levin, who made a commitment to Air Force Academy (Atlantic Hockey, D1) in the final week of the regular season, was selected by the Sioux Falls Stampeded in the 13th round, number 207 overall. Levin had 13 points (3-10-13) in 52 games with the Jacks this year in his first NAHL campaign.
