
Rebels Tender NA3HL Defenseman Casey Essleman

The Rebels are pleased to announce the signing of Granite City Lumberjacks defenseman Casey Essleman to a NAHL Tender contract for the 2016-17 season.
The Wisconsin Rapids, WI native, 19, just completed his first season of junior hockey with Granite City in the NA3HL. Essleman played in 50 games and had a total of 34 points (10 goals and 24 assists). He had an outstanding +42 plus/minus ratio, which also was in the top 10 for all NA3HL defensemen. The 5'11", 195lbs left-handed shooting defenseman had two goals in five NA3HL Playoff games, and he was named to the NA3HL All-West Division Team. Esselman was selected to and played in the 2016 NA3HL Top Prospects Tournament in Plymouth, MI for the West Division team. He recorded an assist in three games.
"I'm extremely excited to be able to play for a great organization and also very thankful for this opportunity" stated Essleman. "I can't wait to begin a new chapter in my hockey career with the Aston Rebels!" concluded Essleman.
"I'm looking forward to working with Casey" said Rebels head coach Joe Coombs. "He moves the puck well and he knows his game well. He'll be an asset to our team" concluded Coombs.
