Dayton Dragons News Release

Dayton, OH - RHP Zac Stott has been placed on the disabled list after testing positive for Epstein - Barr virus. According to the National Center for Infectious Diseases; "Epstein-Barr, frequently referred to as EBV, is one of the most common human viruses. The virus occurs worldwide, and most people become infected with EBV sometime during their lives. In the United States, as many as 95% of adults between 35 and 40 years of age have been infected. EBV remains dormant or latent in a few cells in the throat and blood. Periodically, the virus can reactivate and is commonly found in the saliva of infected persons." On the season Stott is 0-2 with four saves and a 5.40 ERA in 14 appearances, all out of the bullpen.

Replacing Stott on the active roster is RHP Landon Ondrusek. The 13th round selection of the Reds in the 2005 First Year Player Draft is the tallest player to ever don a uniform for the Dragons. At 6'8" and 211 pounds, the right hander is expected to help bolster the bullpen. In 2005 Ondrusek appeared in 15 games with the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League, posting a 1-6 record with a 6.02 ERA. The righty started nine games for the Mustangs and struck out 46 while walking 19 in 55.1 innings of work. Ondrusek will be in uniform for the Dragons Thursday night game vs. the Cedar Rapids Kernels. The Dayton active roster is at 25.
