CHANDLER, Ariz.âThe February issue of Just Hockey, the only publication dedicated to exclusive coverage of minor pro hockey, is now available at an arena near you. Stay informed about the happenings during the 2002-03 season with 52 pages of features, player profiles, league news, columns and more than 90 team reports for all six leagues.
The fifth issue of the 2002-03 season features a cover story on Orlando Seals captain, and former NHLer, Zac Boyer. The ACHL's most dominant offensive player talks about settling down in Orlando again, having once played for the IHL Solar Bears, and his charity, Boyer's Buddies, in which he is heavily involved.
This month's insider column features Reading General Manager Ray Delia, who held the same position with the Shreveport Mudbugs during two of their WPHL championship seasons. Delia shares his philosophy in building a successful expansion team, which he established by serving as GM in both Reading and Shreveport during their inaugural seasons.
Other features include a look at the deep bond shared by twins Peter and Chris Ferraro of the AHL Portland Pirates; UHL Missouri forward Lonnie Loach who recently topped the 1,000-point mark; the career choices tugging at WCHL Fresno blueliner Drew Schoneck; CHL Shreveport trainer George Bullock explains the gory side of his job; and the heavy New Mexico flavor in ACHL Knoxville.
Taking a look ahead, the cover story for the March issue of Just Hockey tells the tale of former Pee Dee goaltender Sandy Allan, who continues recovering from serious head injuries he suffered after a fall from a hotel balcony in January 2002. The insider column features CHL Memphis star Don Parsons, who discusses his three passions; hockey, family and working with his charity.
