You Sank My Battleship

It might not be much of a stretch to guess that the Fayetteville Patriots grew up playing the children's game of Battleship as youngsters. Just like in Battleship, where you claim the enemy's ship one game piece at a time, Coach Jeff Capel's crew is earning the reputation of being able to take the opposing team's arena, one basket at a time. With a 99-86 victory at the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville Tuesday night, the league-leading Patriots are an impressive 9-2 on the road this season.

Bring Me Back

With NBA scouts lining press row in Greenville Tuesday night, Fayetteville's Devin Brown emphatically stated his case for a return trip to the NBA this season. Brown, who played seven games with the San Antonio Spurs earlier this season, recorded a double-double from the two-guard spot by scoring 26 points and collecting 10 rebounds.

I'll See Your Pair of Nates, and Raise You a Hamilton

Columbus got outstanding production from its pair of Nates ? Johnson and Green ? on the way to a 92-81 win at Huntsville Tuesday night. Nate Johnson led the Riverdragons with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Nate Green contributed 18 points and seven assists. Just for good measure, NBDL December Player of the Month Tang Hamilton chipped in 19 points, seven boards and four assists.

Who Are Those Guys?

The road team won all three NBDL games Tuesday night, including the surging Roanoke Dazzle. The its first game since losing center Mikki Moore to the Boston Celtics, Roanoke traveled to Asheville and defeated the Altitude 80-66. The victory is the third in five games for the Dazzle, who has climbed from the league cellar into a tie for fifth place at 9-11 overall.

That's Terrence with a Capital T

Roanoke forward Terrence Shannon has continued his play that garnered serious consideration for NBDL December Player of the Month into the New Year. In the Dazzle's win at Asheville Tuesday night, Shannon scored 19 points and grabbed nine rebounds to continue to lead the team in both categories.

Alexander the Great

Dazzle guard Cory Alexander stepped up alongside Terrence Shannon Tuesday night to put together a solid 22 points and five assists. A veteran of 291 NBA games, Alexander was 7-of-10 from the floor.
