Alabama Teams Make Moves

January 8, 2003 - NBA G League (G League) News Release

GREENVILLE, S.C. (January 8, 2003) - The Mobile Revelers and the Huntsville Flight both made moves today to acquire players, according to an announcement by National Basketball Development League Executive Director Karl Hicks.

The Revelers added Gerald Walker, a 6-foot-1, 185-pound point guard who played collegiately at the University of San Francisco ('96). The Flight picked up NBDL journeyman Eric Williams, a 6-8, 243-pound forward who is making his third stop in the league this season.

Walker fills the Mobile roster spot vacated by Rafer Alston, who signed a 10-day contract with the Toronto Raptors. Williams moves in to the Huntsville roster spot available due to a season-ending injury to Marcus Fleming.

Walker last played in the USBL with the Adirondack Wildcats and the Kansas Cagerz, finishing the 2002 season with a 9.9 scoring average and 4.7 assists per game. Williams began the NBDL season with Greenville, but was released by the Groove Nov. 27. Columbus signed him on Dec. 3 and then waived him Dec. 22.

In all, Williams has played in 12 NBDL games this season, averaging a combined 3.9 points and 3.2 rebounds.
