Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY-The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz are teaming up with Habitat for Humanity on April 4th & 6th. Players, coaches, dance team, and front office staff will all be lending a helping hand to this worthy cause.
The team will be working at Habitat's new Hope Crossing development in northeast Oklahoma City. "We greatly appreciate the Yard Dawgz support of the Habitat mission," said Ann Felton, Chairman and CEO of Central Oklahoma Habitat. "We will build at least 45 homes for hard working, deserving Oklahoma families this year, and we are truly looking forward to working with the Yard Dawgz to help us meet that goal."
Central Oklahoma Habitat for Humanity is part of an international, nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry, which provides zero-interest mortgage loans to qualified hard-working lower-income families. New homes are built by volunteers who donate their time, money, and materials. Each completed home is then sold to a qualified family at no profit and with no interest.
Head Coach John Fitzgerald worked with Habitat for Humanity when he was with the Austin Wranglers of the Arena Football League. "It's such an amazing feeling knowing that you're helping someone in need," commented Fitzgerald. "Habitat for Humanity is a worthwhile organization and it's an honor to team up with them once again."
The keys to the new home that the Yard Dawgz help to build will be presented to the deserving family at a Yard Dawgz home game this summer.
