Yard Dawgz Face Big Challenge in Talons

Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (4-4) take on in-state and Central Division archrival Tulsa Talons (7-1) on Saturday, May 30th, at the Cox Convention Center. Kickoff is set for 7:05 pm CST. Saturday's matchup will be the first home game for the Dawgz in almost a month and is the 15th meeting all-time between the two teams. Tulsa leads the all-time series 9-5.
The Yard Dawgz are coming off their fourth straight loss after starting off to a franchise best record of 4-0. Corpus Christi scored on every offensive possession during Monday's game. The Sharks won the battle 65-62 and put the Dawgz at .500 through the first half of the season. In the loss, WR Al Hunt became arenafootball2's all-time leader in career touchdowns with 195 TDs. He is also the leagues all-time career scoring leader with 1,188 points. DE Aaron Chavers also became the Yard Dawgz all-time career sack leader with 13.5 sacks.
Saturday's game against the Talons will be a big test for the Dawgz. The Talons are ranked #3 in the af2 Coaches Poll and are in the top five in the league in both scoring offense and defense. With a win, the Dawgz could find solid footing above the .500 mark as well as a new outlook on the remainder of the season. A win would also end the month of May on a positive note.
