Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release
OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz (4-3) dropped only one spot in this week's af2 Coaches Poll, after losing to the defending 2008 af2 ArenaCup Champion and #6 ranked Tennessee Valley Vipers, 49-24. This week the Dawgz square off against the Corpus Christi Sharks (1-6) on Memorial Day, May 25th at 3:00pm in Corpus Christi, TX.

Last week Yard Dawgz WR Al Hunt surpassed Central Valley's George Williams as arenafootball2's all-time career scoring leader. He now has 1,174 points and is tied with Williams for the af2 career touchdown record at 193 TDs. The six year veteran is second all-time in af2 career receiving yards (7,383) and career receiving TDs (166) and is third all-time in the league in career receptions (527). This season, Hunt leads all Yard Dawg receivers this season in receptions (41), receiving yards (638), touchdowns (16), and receiving yards per game (91.1).
Monday's matchup against the Sharks is a virtual must win for the Dawgz, as a loss would give the Dawgz a .500 record through the first half of the season. The Dawgz plan to use the extra few days over the holiday weekend to regain their health as a squad, as they have had several key players out due to injuries the last few games. The good news is Corpus Christi has struggled to find their identity so far this season.
The Yard Dawgz square off against Central Division archrival Tulsa Talons on Saturday, May 30th at the Cox Convention Center. Yard Dawgz Flex Packs are now on sale starting at just $50! Yard Dawgz single game tickets are on sale, starting at only $10! The Yard Dawgz Block Party begins every home game at 5:00 PM on Reno. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:05 PM.
