Yard Dawgz Choose Dance Team Members

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz held tryouts to select members of the 2008 Dance Team on Saturday, January 26th. More than 50 women auditioned for the opportunity to perform in front of Yard Dawgz fans this season.
The hopeful dancers were taught several pre-choreographed routines they later performed during tryouts. The women auditioned in front of a panel of judges that included Yard Dawgz owner Phil Miller, front office and coaching staff; Deizel Dawg; Dance Team Coordinator Brandy Corcoran; and the Yard Dawgz in-arena announcer, T.J. Brown of KJ103.
The franchise selected 29 dancers, 14 of which have been with the team at least once during the past 4 years. Several members of the squad currently cheer or dance at local universities, including the University of Oklahoma, University of Central Oklahoma, Southwestern Oklahoma State University, and Eastern Oklahoma State College.
Corcoran said, "I'm very excited to work with this immensely talented group of women. 2008 will be our best season ever."
The women will perform at all Yard Dawgz home games and will make appearances throughout Oklahoma City during 2008. Mark your calendars as the 2008 Yard Dawgz Dance Team takes the field for the first time on April 5, 7:05 p.m. at Ford Center.
