Albany Firebirds News Release

ALBANY, NY - The Albany Conquest announced today that Wide Receiver/Defensive Back Chris Bocage, Fullback/Linebacker Beau Jadrosich and Offensive/Defensive Lineman Nate Delap have been assigned to the Conquest by the af2 for the 2008 season, bringing the Conquest's announced roster up to eight players.

Bocage, 25, played for the University of Southern California as a member of the special teams unit for three seasons (2002-2004) and was also a reserve wide receiver and defensive back. The Pearl City, Hawaii native was a member of USC's 2004 National Championship team that beat Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl and was named the 2004 Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year. Bocage, 5'10", 190 lbs., suffered a season-ending knee injury early in the 2003 season where the Trojans were named co-National Champions with LSU, after being voted #1 in the Associated Press Poll.

"Chris comes from a big time program that has a history of teaching its players how to be professionals, said Conquest Head Coach Jeff Hoffman. "After watching his film, I think he has all the tools to be a strong arena player."

Delap, 23, played three years of college football for Division III Worcester Polytechnic Institute (2003-2005). The Watervliet, New York native shined as the center for WPI's offensive line and was named to the Second Team All-Liberty League in back-to-back seasons (2004, 2005). Delap, 6'2", 295 lbs. was a New York State High School All-Star as a senior and played for New York in the 2003 Governor's Bowl against the New Jersey High School All-Stars at Rutgers University.

"Nate is a true center, a position that is always in high demand in pro football," said Coach Hoffman. "There is definitely plenty of local football talent in this area and it's nice to keep him at home. He has a great opportunity to make this team."

Jadrosich, 24, (pronounced jah-DROH-sihch), comes to the Conquest with arena football action under his belt. The Norwood, New Jersey native played for the Laredo Lobos (Texas) of the IFL in 2006 playing as a fullback/linebacker. Despite only playing in five games, Jadrosich, 6'0", 255 lbs. was the Lobos second-leading rusher with 31 carries for 101 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. He played two years college football for the Division III Wesley College Wolverines in Dover, Delaware.

"Beau has experience in the indoor game and after seeing film on him, he is definitely going to improve our fullback position," said Coach Hoffman. "He runs the ball and holds his blocks really well."

The Conquest will begin their 2008 season on the road at the Mahoning Valley Thunder on Saturday, March 29th at 7:05 pm. The Conquest's home opener will be on Sunday, April 13th at 4:00 pm against the Peoria Pirates at the Times Union Center.
