Pulaski River Turtles News Release

Elizabethton starter Dominick Carlini had a no-hitter going to the fourth until a perfectly timed double from Tim Lynch broke it up and plated two runs en route to a 3-1 Pulaski win at Joe O'Brien Stadium Thursday night. The win improves the Yankees' record to 5-3 on the season while the Twins drop to 4-4.

Pulaski starter Rafael Lara is credited with the win pitching for five innings allowing one run and four hits while walking two and striking out four. Yankees' reliever Tyler Honahan also picks up his first save of the season pitching for two innings allowing one hit while striking out two and walking two. Elizabethton starter Dominick Carlini is tagged with the loss pitching for six innings allowing two runs and one hit while walking two and striking out one.

Both teams face off in the series finale Friday night beginning at approximately 7 p.m.

It was a pitcher's duel for much of the game. The Twins pulled ahead with second baseman Travis Blankenhorn hitting a solo homer to center in the first. A solid pitching performance from Carlini retired 11 straight Pulaski players to open the game. Isiah Gilliam hopped aboard on a fielding error and took off for second base. He stole second and a throwing error kept him going all the way to third. Kevin Cornelius then drew a walk to put runners on the corners. Tim Lynch then hit a double off the right field wall to plate both Gilliam and Cornelius and give the Yankees a 2-1 lead.

Cornelius added an insurance run in the ninth with his second home run of the series to make it 3-1. That would be the last run to cross the plate for either side sealing Pulaski's fifth win of the season.
