Xplosion to host second Tip-Off Reception December 4

PITTSBURGH, November 27, 2006 - In preparation for its home opener on December 6 at Mellon Arena, the Pittsburgh Xplosion professional basketball team will host its second Tip-Off Reception on Monday, December 4 from 6:00 - 9:00 PM at the Sheraton Station Square Hotel. The Sheraton is located at 300 West Station Square Drive. The event is free and open to the public.
The evening will feature introductions of the Xplosion's final roster and coaches, including new head coach Larry Anderson, along with 13-year NBA veteran Armon Gilliam, West Virginia University All-American Kevin Pittsnogle and former Duquesne University star Bryant McAllister. Autograph signings, photo opportunities, prizes, surprises and ticket giveaways will further highlight the event which includes light hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar.
All media members are invited to attend with special provisions to be made in the VIP Area.
The Club 4 Life in Monroeville, Pa. serves as the Xplosion's training and practice facility. The Xplosion opens its Continental Basketball Association schedule on Friday, December 1 at Albany and will play its home opener at Mellon Arena on Wednesday, December 6 at 7:00 PM.
