PITTSBURGH, JAN. 8, 2006 -- Led by Janerio Spurlock's 25 points, the Pittsburgh Xplosion blasted the visiting Cleveland Rockers 152-117 at Mellon Arena for their sixth consecutive victory. Center Armon Gilliam scored 23 points and grabbed 7 rebounds, and Wesley Fluellen and Darius Mattear each scored 18 for the Xplosion, which improved its ABA record to 11-7. Chester Mason led the Rockers with 31 points.
The Xplosion have scored more than 145 points in five of their six victories in the team's impressive winning streak. At the mid-point of the regular 36-game ABA season, the Xplosion have a secure grip on second place in the Freddie Lewis Division, trailing only the Indiana Alley Cats.
