Xplorers Make Player Moves

Memphis Xplorers News Release
SOUTHAVEN, Miss â The Memphis Xplorers made several player moves this week approved by the af2 office. The biggest move was activating QB Rod Robinson off the short term injured reserve. The Xplorers travel to Louisville this Saturday to take on the Fire. Memphis returns home on July 5th against Tennessee Valley. Call (662) 280-3737 for tickets or go online to www.xplorersaf2.com .
Robinson is expected to play this Saturday night as the Xplorers look to snap a two game losing streak. Robinson has missed the past three games with injuries. He currently ranks 7th in af2 with a passing rating of 113.4.
"This is huge for us," Xplorers head coach Danton Barto said. "Rod was playing very well when he went down with an injury prior to the Bossier City game. We missed not only his talent, but also his leadership in the huddle."
The Xplorers were assigned WR/LB Joe Gunn from Ole Miss. Gunn played for the Rebels from 1998-2001 and was a four year letter winner. In 1999, was selected honorable mention All-America by the Football News. In 2001, was fourth in the SEC in rushing with 870 yards and participated in the Blue-Gray All-Star Game.
Memphis was also assigned WR/DB Sean Stellato from Marist. Stellato spent time last year with the Louisville Fire. While at Marist he also played basketball for the Red Foxes.
The Xplorers reassigned QB Will Burch. In three starts he went 1-2 with Memphis. WR/DB Martin Dossett was placed on recallable reassignment.
