af2 Friday night matchup

Published on June 19, 2003 under arenafootball2 (af2) News Release

ROCHESTER BRIGADE (1-10) AT WILKES-BARRE/SCRANTON PIONEERS (3-7) FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 2003 - FIRST UNION ARENA AT CASEY PLAZA (7,955) 7:00 P.M. ET

The Brigade travels to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to take on the Pioneers for the second of three games this season. The Pioneers took the first meeting between these teams by a score of 58-35 on April 26 partly due to the play of Offensive MVP of the Game CHRIS BODEN who completed 23-of-35 passes for 246 yards and five touchdowns, connecting with COSMO DEMATTEO for three of them. This game proves to be a battle in the American Northeast Division with both teams nearly even in their average offensive points per game and defensive points per game. Rochester and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton hope to bounce back from their tough losses last week, and the Pioneers hope to stop Brigade offensive specialist LAMONTE COLEMAN who is third in the league in rushing. Rochester WR/DB DEREK BAKER continues to be an offensive and defensive leader for the Brigade. He leads the team in touchdowns and interceptions. Rochester will take on the Pioneers once more this season in the final week on July 26.
