Memphis Xplorers News Release

SOUTHAVEN, MS- The Memphis Xplorers of af2, looking to get back above the .500 mark and position themselves for a playoff berth, take to the road this weekend to take on the Manchester Wolves.

The Xplorers, coming off a big 59-31 home victory over the Bakersfield Blitz this past weekend, stand at 5-5 on the season with six games to play. They take on a Manchester squad that has cooled somewhat after a good start to the season. The Wolves, who are in their first year in Manchester, stand at 4-6 on the campaign.

Memphis will hope to continue the offensive efficiency of their previous game, which saw them score over 50 points for the fifth time this season, but the first time in three weeks. In fact, the Xplorers point total last week was more then their previous two weeks combined.

The Xplorers should have a full offensive complement available on Friday, including QB Michael Wall and OS Kevin Prentiss. Wall, who entered this past weekend's game late in the first half after an injury to starting QB Brian Jones, threw for five touchdown passes in his first action in a Memphis uniform.

Following this Friday's game, the Xplorers will return to the DeSoto Civic Center for next week's crucial divisional contest versus the Tennessee Valley Vipers.

Game time this week is scheduled for 6:30 PM CST, with pre-game scheduled for approximately 6:20 PM. All sixteen regular season Xplorers football games will be heard throughout the Mid-South on SportsPlus 790 WMC, and worldwide on SportsJuice.com. In addition, all home games will be broadcast on X-Cast, a special in-house radio broadcast designed specifically for the DeSoto Civic Center. X-Cast airs on 107.9 FM, and can be received while in the DeSoto Civic Center by using a walkman or other personal radio. Fans can also watch the Xplorers during selected games during the season on AF2TV.com, which offers live streaming video and audio on a pay-per-view basis.
