Xplorers announce dance team tryouts

Southaven, MS -- The Memphis Xplorers announced auditions for the 2003 Xplosion Dance Team will be Saturday, February 1st at Desoto Athletic Club, 3146 Goodman Road, in Southaven.

Registration for the tryout will be from noon to 12:50 p.m. Auditions will begin promptly at 1 pm.

"This year is going to be a banner year for the Xplorers, and the Xplosion will be a big part of that," said Xplorers Asst. General Manager Andrea Lester. "I'm very encouraged by the enthusiasm of Adrienne Germano, our new dance team director."

Cost to audition for the dance team is $20. Only cash, personal checks, or money orders will be accepted. Auditions will be closed to the public. All participants must be at least 18 years old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Those interested should be athletic and possess dance experience. Required attire is a two-piece workout outfit or leotard with tennis shoes or dance shoes. Participants should arrive with a recent headshot (photo), presentable hair and makeup. Hopefuls will be evaluated in the following categories: personality, appearance, physique, poise, talent, confidence, rhythm, and flexibility.

The 2003 Xplosion will be managed and choreographed by Adrienne Germano. She will be responsible for all team choreography, as well as scheduling practice sessions and public appearances.

The Xplorers are looking for enthusiastic individuals with a cheer/dance background, a positive attitude, a love for entertaining and a desire to be part of the best dance team in arena football.
